DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Computer Applications was established in the year 2013. Initially the department was offering computer application as one of the subjects in the erstwhile semester based and CBCS based scheme. The department was granted affiliation for Bachelors in Computer Applications programme with an approved intake capacity of 40 seats and Information Technology with intake capacity of 30 students by the affiliating university (University of Kashmir) vide no, F (Aff-GDCTral ) /CDC/24 dated 22-07-2022. The department is offering Bachelors (Honours) with Computer Applications as Major and Bachelors (Honours) with Information Technology as Major
INFRASTRUCTURE: The department is hosted in a separate two story building with 02 classrooms and 02 laboratories, one HOD room and one faculty room. The rooms are well ventilated and of sufficient capacity. The departmental is connected to inflibnet for reference journals and other books besides the Central library. The computers in the laboratory are of latest technology, with licensed operating Systems and open source software. The department produce talented graduates for various post graduate courses viz. MSC IT, MCA, MSC Computer Sciences etc.

The department's comprehensive course offerings encompass a wide range of disciplines, including Application Programming, Database Management System, Computer Organization and Architecture, Operating System, Computer Network, Network Security and Cryptography, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The department also offers a Certificate Course in Computers.
