The Department of Kashmiri Government Degree College Tral, Pulwama was established in 1988, the same year when the College itself was established, marking a significant step in expanding Higher Education opportunities in the region. As part of a College, affiliated with the University of Kashmir, the Department of Kashmiri plays a dynamic role in fostering linguistic proficiency, critical thinking, and cultural awareness among students. Programme Overview
The B.A. (Honors) Kashmiri Literature is a three- to four-year undergraduate program designed for students passionate about literature, language, and critical analysis. The curriculum offers a comprehensive exploration of Kashmiri literature across historical periods and genres, including poetry, prose, drama, and literary criticism. Students engage with canonical works from the medieval era to contemporary times, while also studying literary theory, linguistics, and cultural studies.

Elective courses and interdisciplinary modules allow students to tailor their studies to individual interests, such as Kashmiri Language Teaching.
